We Interrupt Your Scheduled Blog Post

I am writing blog posts, I promise. I’m just not posting them. I’ve been working flat out last week, and I’ve been struggling with a nasty dose of the cold this week. In between working and trying to stay alive, I’m redesigning the entire blog from scratch and getting ready to migrate to a self-hosted blog. I’m sticking with WordPress because it’s what I’m used to; and if it’s good enough for half the internet, it’s good enough for me. Although the initial setup and creation of a self-hosted WordPress blog is a bit of a pain in the can; the level of customisation it affords makes it worth the effort in my opinion (plus I’ll be able to get rid of those pesky ads on pages).

It’s all part of the master plan to take over the world create a blog that I can be proud of for years to come. I’ve been blogging without giving much thought to posting schedules or the types of posts I want to make, but with the new website, I’ll be able to shake things up and create a space for myself on the Intertubes. So bare with me while I migrate everything and give myself headaches over which shade of grey I think makes a better background colour. It’ll all be worth it in the end.

I’d also like to start becoming a bit more collaborative, so if any other bloggers reading this would like to work on something together, please hit me up on here or Twitter, especially if you happen to be an LGBT blogger living in Northern Ireland. I have a few ideas up my sleeve and would really like to start becoming more included in the blogosphere.

The last exciting piece of news is that with the new blog comes my very own .co.uk address. I know a few people have contacted me on Facebook having trouble remembering the address for the current blog. The new address is a lot easier to remember, although I’m not ready to give it out just yet.

So there we go, a quick update to let y’all know what’s in the pipeline. It shouldn’t be too long until I return again, so watch this space.
